About
Dr. Werner brings the team’s broadest experience across fetal therapies. A German-trained consultant at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, he works alongside Dr. Leanne Bricker and Dr. Gareth Waring in our fetal therapy team.
His clinical experience spans fetoscopic laser treatment for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, treatment of TRAP sequence, intrauterine transfusion, fetal shunt placement, fetal endoscopic tracheal occlusion (FETO), and advanced fetal surgery including in-utero spina bifida repair. He also provides detailed fetal heart assessment and invasive prenatal diagnosis. Mediclinic documents more than 500 fetoscopic laser and fetal surgery procedures in his professional experience.
Following fellowship and consultant practice in Hamburg, including University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, he moved to the UAE in 2015. His publications include work on large series of TTTS laser treatment and the scope of intrauterine surgery. He discusses each diagnosis and the potential role of intervention with the family and multidisciplinary team.
